Rosemary Warner

Elementary School Principal / Superintendent

Sonshine Christian’s Superintendent/Elementary School Principal, Rosemary Warner, has a B.A. in human development, an M.ED. in educational leadership, and K-12 Principal and Program Director’s Licenses. Mrs. Warner also has experience working as an elementary and middle school administrator, a church staff member and a K-12 music teacher. Amber Lee

Kindergarten Teacher

Amber Lee graduated from Washington state University with her Masters in Teaching Degree and has a Washington state elementary teacher certification. Amber is an enthusiastic teacher who prides herself in making learning engaging and relevant for all of her students. Kristy Bates

Kindergarten/1st Grade Teacher

Kristi Bates is Sonshine Christian Schools Kindergarten and 1st grade teacher. She is so excited to be a part of the Sonshine Christian school team! She has 15 years of teaching experience at a charter school in Portland, Oregon, as a kindergarten teacher, first-grade teacher, and Intervention Specialist, and also in the Oregon City School District in Oregon City, Oregon (where she grew up) as an after-school program leader and a Title I reading assistant. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Development from Warner Pacific College, a Post-Bacc in Elementary Education from Western Governors University, and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon. When she is not teaching or studying, she enjoys spending time with family. She currently lives in Vancouver with her husband, Christian, and her daughters Cassidy (three) and Courtney (one). Her husband and she both grew up in Oregon but moved to Vancouver, WA about 3 years ago. She is extremely grateful for the opportunity to work at Sonshine Christian. This was truly a calling from God and a way that He has allowed her to incorporate my love for teaching and my Christian faith. Marce’ Palmer

4th and 5th Grade Teacher

Marce’ Palmer graduated from La Sierra University in Riverside, CA with her Masters in Educational Psychology and Counseling. Marce’ also has her Washington State Teaching Certificate. She has had the privilege of teaching in both preschool and elementary classrooms. She has a passion for helping young children who struggle in the classroom academically and works with those students one-on-one. Marce

Kathleen Johnson

Librarian and Classroom Aide

Kathleen Johnson is Sonshine Christian School’s librarian and classroom aide. Kathleen has taught children for over 20 years and has prior experience directing a weekly Children’s Church program, teaching elementary music, serving as Sunday School director, and elementary school librarian. DeeAnne Berglund

P.E. Teacher

DeeAnne Berglund has over 20 years of experience working with children as a Sunday School Teacher and also as a game leader. DeeAnne loves children and wants to instill in them the importance of being physically fit and healthy. DeeAnne also volunteers her time as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), where she helps to advocate for children in difficult court decisions.

Monica Gilberg

Spanish Teacher and Afternoon Pre-K Teacher

Ms. Monica is our Spanish and one of our afternoon Pre-K teachers. Ms. Monica is a native Spanish speaker. She was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico. Her parents, who still live in Mexico, have been the best example of a loving relationship with God. Family is very important to Ms. Monica, and she is blessed to have such a good one. Ms. Monica graduated with a degree in technical education as a bilingual administrator assistant. Teaching children gives Ms. Monica the opportunity to pass on her love of the Spanish language with the next generation. She believes in planting a seed of love in each child, that will continue to grow for the rest of their lives.
