Amber Lee

3rd/4th Grade Teacher

Amber Lee is Sonshine’s Lead Teach. She graduated from Washington state University with her Masters in Teaching Degree and has a Washington state elementary teacher certification. Amber is an enthusiastic teacher who prides herself in making learning engaging and relevant for all of her students. Becky Jones

4th/5th/6th Grade Teacher

Rebecca Jones has her Master’s in Education Degree from City University and is certified as an elementary school teacher in the state of Washington. Rebecca has experience working with multi grade level classes and believes in providing differentiated learning and teaching in order to meet the needs and styles of all her students. Rebecca is also Sonshine Christian Elementary School’s Curriculum Specialist. Rebecca’s positive attitude and passion for teaching make her a valuable addition to our staff! Jacquelyn Everts

Kindergarten Teacher

Jacquelyn Everts is one of Sonshine Christian School’s Kindergarten teachers. Through prayer God led her here to Sonshine and she feels so blessed to be a part of the Sonshine Christian team. She has her Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Western Governors University and her Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development from American Military University. Mrs. Everts has community and professional experience working with children from preschool age to early teens. When she is not teaching and planning activities for her Kinders, she enjoys spending time with her husband and toddler. Brooke Warner

Kindergarten Teacher

Brooke Warner is one of Sonshine Christian School’s Kindergarten teachers. Mrs. B.W. has been working at Sonshine for over six years, initially teaching Pre-K, and then as the Daycare Director for the past four years. With a passion for working with her students, Mrs. B.W. followed an overwhelming prompting from the Lord to find her way back to the classroom as an elementary teacher. Mrs. B.W. has her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Early Childhood Education from Warner Pacific University, and is currently completing her Master’s program in Elementary Education at Grand Canyon University. Mrs. B.W. has a passion for working with her students and their families, for helping provide quality education in a loving Christian environment. She believes that every student has the ability and capabilities to learn when provided with loving and appropriate differentiated instruction. When not working with her student’s Mrs. B.W. enjoys spending time with her family and their two dogs. Rosemary Warner

Elementary School Principal / Superintendent

Sonshine Christian’s Superintendent/Elementary School Principal, Rosemary Warner, has a B.A. in human development, an M.ED. in educational leadership, and K-12 Principal and Program Director’s Licenses. Kristy Bates

1st/2nd Grade Teacher

Kristi Bates is Sonshine Christian Schools 1st and 2nd grade teacher. She is so excited to be a part of the Sonshine Christian school team! She has 15 years of teaching experience at a charter school in Portland, Oregon, as a kindergarten teacher, first-grade teacher, and Intervention Specialist, and also in the Oregon City School District in Oregon City, Oregon (where she grew up) as an after-school program leader and a Title I reading assistant. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Development from Warner Pacific College, a Post-Bacc in Elementary Education from Western Governors University, and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon. When she is not teaching or studying, she enjoys spending time with family. She currently lives in Vancouver with her husband, Christian, and her daughters Cassidy and Courtney. Her husband and she both grew up in Oregon but moved to Vancouver, WA about 5 years ago. She is extremely grateful for the opportunity to work at Sonshine Christian. This was truly a calling from God and a way that He has allowed her to incorporate my love for teaching and my Christian faith. Kathleen Johnson

Librarian and Academic Support Specialist

Kathleen Johnson is Sonshine Christian School’s librarian and Academic Support Specialist. Kathleen has taught children for over 30 years and has prior experience directing a weekly Children’s Church program, teaching elementary music, serving as Sunday School director, and elementary school librarian. Her passion is to create a love of reading in all children and help children who struggle with reading. She has traveled all over the world and loves sharing those experiences with the students. When she’s not working in the library, she loves spending time with family, traveling, reading. singing on the church’s Worship team and needle crafts. DeeAnne Berglund

P.E. Teacher

DeeAnne Berglund has over 20 years of experience working with children as a Sunday School Teacher and also as a game leader. DeeAnne loves children and wants to instill in them the importance of being physically fit and healthy. DeeAnne also volunteers her time as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), where she helps to advocate for children in difficult court decisions.
